Working from home jobs

Hello Get Me a Job members and visitors, this article is for people looking to work at home, or are on the fence about it. This is appropriately titled “Working from home jobs”. What this article will talk about are the kinds of jobs you might be able to do from home, and also some of the pitfalls you might encounter along the way of find good, quality work at home jobs.

Working from home jobs is a very broad phrase, because there are a ton of things people can do for work from the comfort of their homes. Below, we have listed a few ideas that you might consider. Keep in mind, we didn’t add telemarketer or the “typist”, as these are terms that are pretty much hated by people during the past decade. Telemarketer, will always be a job that will be a tough sell because these people have to convince total strangers, usually during their dinner time, to buy something. Not a great opportunity in my mind. Anyways, here we go with the list:

  • blogger on your own site, or on someone else’s
  • article writer
  • website designer
  • webmaster
  • SEO expert
  • interviewer
  • translator
  • Ebay seller
  • Amazon affiliate seller via your website
  • And much, much more

These are just a handful of jobs that people nowadays are doing, some easier than others. They are all REAL jobs, in the fact that they are usually paid by good companies/people. These are not shady jobs by any stretch of the imagination. The only difference between these jobs and the usual “brick and mortar” jobs are the people doing them, they are working from home. Working from home jobs are really exploding, and as more and more people find out about them, the market will become more competitive and tight. So, why not get in now while there is quite a bit of wiggle room to move around?

As time passes, there will be new kinds of opportunities where people can be working from home, doing neat kinds of jobs. The one thing you have to keep in mind is, do not be lazy. Even though you are doing these tasks at home, it is still a job, and you should treat it as such. So, make sure when it’s “work time”, you have the least amount of distractions as possible, to get the job done. This will be better for your work at home job career, and therefor will produce better, in general, for the customer/client.

Give it a try, what have you got to lose? Also, one thing that just popped into my head. Any “opportunity” that you have to pay first to get in on, is not one to be trusted. The good companies, honest companies, are the ones that treat this stuff just like any other usual job, and with that, do people usually ask money from you? No, so why should this be any different. Please keep that in mind, if somethings sounds too good to be true, most often than not, it is.

Working from home jobs is here to stay, and you should explore this option while it’s still pretty much in it’s infancy. Good luck.

Gap year jobs/work

Hello Get Me a Job members and visitors to this site, we wanted to write an article that has a certain “buzz” to it at the moment, and that is “gap year jobs” or “gap year work”. What exactly does this mean? Well, in short, it is the year after students graduate from high school and wait off a year, doing various things, before delving into college/university life. There really is a buzz about these two phrases at the moment, and one of the reasons why is that in the US, more and more people are waiting a year before starting college or university, compared with people before. So, let’s discuss gap year jobs a bit to familiarize yourself more as to the kinds of things people can do during this time.

Some gap year jobs can include, but are not limited to:

  • work on an organic farm
  • swim instructor
  • aerobics teacher
  • work with a family member or relative
  • work in the film and television sector starting from the bottom of the list, which would be PA, personal assistant
  • work on a horse farm
  • start an online venture

These are just some of the things you can do for gap year work. Gap year jobs are pretty much “temp” jobs that you do which fills the year long break you have from schooling, so the door is open to practically anything that doesn’t require you to “move up the corporate ladder”. There are quite a bit of sites that are geared to gap year jobs, but if you can’t find something that suits you, you can simply Google “temp work”, and I am sure you can find some things in there.

The great thing about gap year work is that you can broaden your horizons if you so choose to do. Usually with a job that asks you to again, “move up the corporate ladder”, people get into a certain “mode” where they just plug away until positive things happen, whereas with gap year jobs, the commitment is only for a year at most. Some people prefer this kind of job because if they don’t like it, they can try something else. So, whatever you choose, understand that it doesn’t have to be an “all in” decision. If you don’t like something there, and can’t resolve it, just move on. The time will be ticking during this gap year, so why waste your time doing something that doesn’t fill your void nicely?

Gap year jobs were not so popular a decade or so back in the US, so you might not be able to find many people who have had experience doing this sort of thing, amongst the older generation people in your family, but again, online, there is a lot of information about this, so just look around, get into some forum talk with other users, and see what works for you. You of course can also use the list of ideas we gave, as that is at your disposal as well.

Good luck.

Jobs for 14, 15, or 16 year olds

Hello Get Me a Job members and visitors, after writing an article for teenagers about various employment opportunities, we decided to narrow down the age group a bit, to focus on the lower side of “teens”, and that is for the 14, 15, and 16 year olds. Jobs for 14, 15, and 16 year olds is a bit different than the older teens, because these kids pretty much just “landed” in high school, or are midway through it, and therefor are still trying to “figure themselves out”. The teens closer to 20, know for the most part which direction they want to head. This can work to the advantage of the younger teens, and let me explain why.

For 14, 15, and 16 year old, because they don’t yet have a feel of exactly what they want to do as a career, the have more room to be creative and bounce from one idea to another. For this age group, sometimes employers are not keen in hiring them for whatever reason, so in my opinion, I think it’s best they carve out their own niche. So, I have created a list of things they can do, for employment. Some of the ideas on this list is similar to another job article I did for teens, but what is different about this list, is that all of the jobs are online. I believe this is where the young people can flourish more, and have more room for creativity to inject into a certain project. Look below for the list:

  • Voice-over work for film, TV, and radio
  • Article writing for various blogs and so on
  • Youtube videos showcasing some of your, or other people’s talents, which might lead to something else down the road
  • Webmaster of a site
  • Interviewer for a blog
  • Your own website that sells Ebay items, and the like
  • In addition to Ebay stuff, you can also attach a website of yours to the tons of affiliate offers that are out there for you to promote and make money off of
  • Website designer
  • Screencast services for companies wishing to showcase their company’s strengths by a screencast

The list is pretty much endless, and as you see, are all focused on online work. This is where the future lies for the young generation, and again, it is one that allows youth to be creative, a lot more creative than working at a burger joint. Scour the internet for the various jobs that I mentioned which appeal to you, and get to work. The great thing about the jobs above is that you can set your own pace pretty much, unless things really take off for you and you can solely focus on your online venture. Jobs for 14, 15, or 16 year olds of today is much different than 10 or 20 years ago, and because of this, you should move with the times.

We wish you all the best in finding something that suits for you, and if you want, you can post about your experiences here on our site, Get Me a Job, so not only we can see what you are doing, or have done, but others can as well, taking that knowledge, and expanding it themselves for their own lives.

Part time jobs for teenagers

Hello Get Me a Job members and visitors, this article will focus on part time jobs for teenagers. The times have changed since I was last a teenager looking for a part time job, and in my opinion, that is a good thing. Let me explain why.

Many of the traditional jobs like paper delivery boy are slowing phasing out, because of the shift to online content. So, with this change, brings along new jobs, and in my opinion, easier for the kids nowadays to do. The kids today wouldn’t like to lug around a large bag of papers, or be seen with them thinking it’s “uncool”, whereas if you have an online job, it can be more accepted among their peers. I will give you a list of part time jobs for teenagers, that they can do either in the summer time, or during the school term.

  • article writer for blogs, etc
  • voice over actor
  • online English “teaching”, focusing more on simple oral English techniques, rather than the traditional “teaching” style
  • webmaster of a website
  • website designer
  • any kind of talent that can be made into a business using Youtube videos
  • online musical performer for Second Life parties

The above is just a handful of things you can do online as part of a part time job for teenagers schedule. The more traditional jobs are:

  • waiter/waitress
  • grocery store employee
  • department store worker
  • fast food worker
  • clothing store employee

You can pretty much pick and choose the types of jobs that interest you, and further research the opportunities online. Also, you can speak with friends about their past experiences, and use those experiences to find your way in the search for a part time job. Keep in mind, the best part time jobs for teenagers are the ones that you can gain maximum amount of money in the shortest amount of time. Doing it this way, allows you more time for your studies, and of course all the other stuff that goes along with being a teenager.

Good luck to all of you teenagers who are looking for part time jobs.

Job Search Engines

Hello Get Me a Job members and visitors, the focus of this article is on job search engines. We all know general search engines like Google and so on, but not too many people know about job search engines. Job search engines are used to specifically find work, whereas Google is a broad search engine. We would like to focus on one region in the world, and that is the U.S. This is a place where jobs are hard to find, or at least that is what the media wants people to believe, but we have discovered a website that focuses mainly on jobs in the U.S., so let’s get right to it, talking about what they have to offer, and so on.

The name of the job search engine site is Just Jobs, and their site address is www.justjobs.com. There, you will find a great job search engine they put together, where people can choose an area, such as county, city, or state. This is great if you really want to narrow down your job search. They also have a column for job categories, which you can use to go directly to the category you have in mind.

A little background about this site, and how it all came to be. This job search engine site was founded 2009 and was put together by LatPro. Inc. They have this site, which hosts a ton of job search engines all intertwined for people to use, sounding complicating, but on the contrary. The CEO of this company is Eric Shannon, and he opened up some websites before “Just Jobs”, all in the field of employment. According to their website, they are physically based in Florida, in a city named Plantation. If you have any questions or comments to direct to them, you can contact them by phone, if that is the method of communication you choose, at (954) 727-8824.

You can tell them that “Get Me a Job” sent you, and they will get a pretty good kick out of that, at least we think so. So, if you are looking for a job search engine, and you want the best US-focused job search engine that is a cut above all the other job search engines, you know where to turn to.

Home Depot Jobs

Hello Get Me a Job members and visitors, we are pleased to write this article titled Home Depot Jobs, because of our past experience with this company. In my earlier years, I held a Home Depot job, in-store, which was pretty much a general labourer. The general labourers at Home Depot would do different job tasks that were needed, such as restocking goods, cleaning up various areas of the store both inside and out, and just being a good helping hand for people. So because of our past experience while holding down a Home Depot job, we thought we would do a short write-up about them, and the numerous positions within their company.

Having a Home Depot job is great, on many levels. Some of the in-store jobs are:

  • Sales Associates
  • Lot Associates
  • Cashiers
  • Freight Team
  • General Warehouse Associate (Distribution Center)
  • General Office Associate (Distribution Center)

Or if you are interested in their corporate side, then the jobs below might interest you:

  • Store Managers
  • Customer Service
  • Supply Chain

Each job comes with it’s perks and benefits. The good thing you can feel is that working for Home Depot, you know you are dealing with the cream of the crop. Home Depot jobs are a plenty, but you have to make their cut. Their standards are high, in both their in-store positions and corporate. So, if you are up to the challenge, and think you have what it takes to deliver top notch service, why not give Home Depot jobs a try? You might be pleasantly surprised.

Home Depot jobs…are you good enough?
